My experience with English 

Since I started school, in prekinder, I started learning english. The truth is that english in my school was very good and I had a lot of classes in this language.

When I started first grade I had different classes in english like math, science and also history. I learned a lot of things named in english and it was difficult for me when in fifth grade, the programme changed and I started having math in spanish, science and history. I had to get used to the words like revolution and rotation because I said "revolucion" meaning "traslacion". Then when I was at high school I was used to it and started enjoying a lot english classes because of my teacher. 

When I enter this university, I had to take a test for knowing what stage of english I was in. At first when I did the test and knew my results, I was angry, because I was wrong in one question and if it wasn't for that, I could have been exempt. But then, when I started having classes, I realised that it wasn't the worst thing in the world. 

I like making blogs because I think that I could practice my writing and my english cohesion. I think that it's good for people to always practice and never leave behind things that would help you in your future. English is now require and a very powerful tool in jobs. 

The only thing that I think that would improve my english is speaking. I would love to go to another country and be there for 6 months and practice a lot my speaking, because the only way to learn how to talk, is been there and share with people that only speaks this language.  

These days, I watch a lot of TV in english, like series and films. I tried to take out the subtitles and only listen . The truth is that I hate the dubbed movies. 

Changes to my study programme

One of the things that made me choose the career that I am studying was the programme that this university had.
When I graduated from school, there was a huge decision to make. I had to pick what university I would study in, because the career was already decided.

After knowing my PSU results, I started visiting the differents universities that I had in mind, and started to check what programme and things they had to offer. When I first read the paper with the programme I already knew what woud be my decision. The best programme for Chemical Pharmacy was Universidad de Chile.

One thing that surprise me was that the programme was very complete, but it seemed a little difficult. The only change that I would make is that we should have more pharmacy classes at the beginning, like in first year, so that we could know if we like this career or not.

Teachers should teach us how to use the different technology for making the medicine, because I think that a lot of my colleagues would work in a laboratory. They should ask for more infrastructure because what we would do in the future will save lives. We need more labs for making experiments and we need more pacience if we don't know what to do.

I think that after studying 6 years, we should be very prepared for work and had a very complete curriculum, the only thing that we would need is experience. We need to work in differents places to know what we like the most, and to choose wisely our future.

My summer holidays

This summer I'm going to make one of my dreams come true.. I'm going with my family to Disney World. The truth is that I have already been to Disney World, but when I was little, so I don't remember much, like anything.

This is actually the only plan I had in mind for the summer because I haven't planned anything yet. The only thing that I actually know is that we have classes until January, so I'm not going to have holidays like when I was at school. 

My family and I planned to go to USA, because my sister won't have holidays next year. She is studying medicine, and the next year she starts her internship, so we planned this "last" holiday together because then we won't be able to spent so much time together. 

We are going to spend two weeks in USA, one and a half in Disney World, and the other half in Miami. We are going to visit all the parks, like Harry Potter, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, etc. The idea is to visit them all and ride all the roller coaster. I can't wait to see Minnie and Mickey!

Also when we visit Miami, we are going to go to visit an uncle that lives there. We want to go to all the malls and buy a lot of things, we have to enjoy. 

This holidays will be amazing and I will have the opportunity to share a lot with my family and connect a little more. 

Addiction: from coffee and tea to drugs of abuse

One of the drugs that I am really familiar with is marihuana. This recreational drug is used by a lot of teenagers and adults. 

In my life, I have only tried marihuana, and in my experience it felt good. I have known people that had tried it and felt horrible, like with nausea and they were really scared, because they were having a panic attack because they were taquicardic. 

When I tried this drug, at the beginning I was scared, because I didn't know how my body would react and if it would make effect. But then I felt very relax and in peace, everything was okay and I slept better the other day. 

I think marihuana is a good drug if you used it correctly and without abuse. The benefits that had this plant is that it calm pain, in sick people,and help in a lot of diseases,I have read about cases in the internet that the oil of the plant calm the pain and help in people with seizures. 

One of the dangers by consuming drugs is that you can become an addict. Using it every day would make you depend on this, and in the case of marihuana you won't be living in the real word. Being an addict is a very worrying illness, you need special attention and the recovery is very difficult. People suffer a lot. 

An addict would feel the necessity of consuming the drug and would make whatever it takes to buy or get it. They would be over weight and could present trembles. Also their hair start to fall and their look is awful. 

In my life, I haven't known anyone with an addiction. I have friends that smoke a lot of marihuana, but not like a problem. 

Post graduate studies...

In know that in my career, Chemical Pharmacy, I would have a lot of possibilities to choose my job. I know that there are many areas of interest and different kinds, so I would have to highlight myself, like studying another thing or making a degree, for making my future a little better, and stand out of my peers. Making a degree would make me know more and be more capable of doing what I have to do.
One of the things that had always kept my attention is how the medicine works in a person with cancer. I'm very interested in how the cells shrink and how the person starts to get better.

It would be very awesome doing this study abroad, like in United States or in Europe. If it is in USA, I prefer New York or California, this are the places that I have to visit sometime, but if it's in Europe, I don't question where.

I would do a part-time course, so when I get unoccupied I'd go out and know the city. It will be one of the best things, mixing study with a good time.

One of the things that I won't like completely, would be not being with my family. Being alone have good things and bad things, but I think that if the course doesn't take a long of time, I would be fine.

My future job

Since I was a little kid that I have always imagine myself working in the "medical" area. 
When I started to get a little more older and the decision of what I was going to study, came closer, I decided that I wanted to help people and make life a little better. So I started studying Chemical Pharmaceutics. 

In this area of the medicine, there are a lot of choices of jobs that you can make. You can work in a hospital, company, drugstore, laboratory, and in many others, but I have always wanted to work in a laboratory, making the medicines. 

I imagine myself wearing this special suit before enter the laboratory and having to put on a mask for not contaminating the area. I know that working indoors is not the most enterneining thing, but when you are doing something that you love, it doesn't matter where you are.
One of the things that would make even better my job, would be traveling a lot. I woul love to know the world and differents tipes of cultures. 

I have always imagine being married and having a family, but I know that I have to have money to do this things, so I would have to find me a job where my salary is ok. 
I am planning to take a major in pharmaceutics, because I think this theme is very interesting and I like it a lot. 

Digressing about music: songs, dances, melodies, groups, films... 

When I was younger I don't really heard music that wasn't from a movie or a serie. I remember that all the songs that I listened was from a serie that I used to watch called Floricienta. This serie was about a woman who wasn't very rich and all that she enjoy was singing. So the theme of the serie was like kind of a musical. 
I remember that I bought the band CDs and heard them all the time, this was my very first experience with music. At present, I don't heard it anymore. 

Then, when I got a little more older, I started watching TV and started to love a program called Mekano. Every afternoon before dinner, I sat and watch the program and dance all the songs that appear. Here I met Axe Bahia and Porto Seguro. Currentley I can say that I am a huge fan of "Axe", and every time I heard it, I dance. 

Then, when I started to go to parties, I started listening to different kind of music, and expand my repertory. I started to listen to Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Daddy Yankee, and others, but my favorite artist of all is Maroon 5.  


I enjoy a lot hearing this band, but the song that I love the most is "She will be loved". I think that this song has been my favorite for a long time, and the first time I heard it, I inmediately loved it. I love the drums and the guitar, because they make the perfect combination of pop and rock.


One of my favorites movies that had a lot of songs, is "Grease". This film have older songs but they are like a classic. Every time I found it on TV, I watch it. 

I think that music is fundamental in our life. I personally listen to music a lot in my day, por example, when I go to university or to my house, when I study and also sometimes, when I shower.I can't imagine my life not listening to anything.
